Classic Nepal Bike Tour | The Ultimate Gravel & XC Himalayan Odyssey
Classic Nepal Bike Tour
The “Classic Nepal” Bike Tour revival is the ultimate cross-section of a nation, transitioning from the emerald high ridges of the Mahabharat mountains to the subtropical floodplains of the Terai. This is a “soul-stirring” journey that blends high-cadence gravel grinding on ancient salt-trading corridors with technical XC singletrack through rhododendron forests. You will conquer the legendary 2,500m Daman pass—offering a 400km Himalayan panorama from Everest to Annapurna—before a white-knuckle 2,000m descent into the jungle lowlands for a wildlife safari. It is a rhythmic, high-heart-rate odyssey through medieval villages and sacred stupas, designed for the rider who seeks both physical grit and deep cultural immersion.
Classic Nepal Bike Tour
Building on the legacy of the original “Classic Nepal” bike tour itinerary, we have reimagined this ’90s star for the modern rider. The 2024 edition evolves from a mountain bike tour into a premier Gravel and Cross-Country (XC) odyssey.
While the 90s version relied heavily on paved “highways” (which are now high-traffic corridors), the modern route leverages Nepal’s “exponential increase” in rural road construction. We have shifted the route toward “Mid Hills Rambles”—quieter, rolling terrain and off-road ridge tracks that preserve the original’s soul while avoiding the “choked and frightening” traffic of the now-busy main roads.
